I spent ten years learning to point a camera at people who don't like being filmed.

Before Sojourn, I shot documentary and commercial work — kitchens, job sites, church basements, one very long night at a fish camp outside Ellijay. The job was always the same: sit with people long enough that they forget the camera, then keep the two minutes that are true.

The websites came later, and by accident. A restaurant I'd filmed asked why their site didn't feel like the film did. It didn't, because the film had been made by someone who spent two nights in their kitchen and the site had been made by someone who'd never eaten there.

So Sojourn does both. Same person on the camera, in the edit, and in the code. Nothing gets handed off, so nothing gets flattened.

Small businesses don't lose to bigger competitors because their website is ugly. They lose because it says nothing.
